FAQ

Common Questions

How much does CDL training cost in Illinois?+

Tuition depends on the school. At All-In CDL the full Class A program is $2,499. On top of tuition, Illinois charges $50 for the commercial learner's permit (CLP) and $60 for the CDL, paid to the Secretary of State. The DOT physical is paid to the clinic.

Do I have to pay the full $2,499 up front?+

No. $1,000 reserves your seat, and you pay the rest in installments while you train.

Is a 'free' company CDL program cheaper?+

Not always. Many company-sponsored programs require you to drive for that carrier for a set time or pay the training back if you leave early. With All-In CDL you pay once and you're free to work anywhere.

Why does the program take 3–4 weeks?+

Illinois requires you to hold your CLP for at least 14 days before the skills test. The program covers 160 hours of classroom, range, and road training around that window.

Can my employer pay me back for tuition?+

Some carriers offer tuition reimbursement after you're hired. Ask each carrier you interview with. We can't promise any specific carrier's program.
